"This report is the sixth in a series of seven which examine temporal changes in the oyster population of the Dunk River, Prince Edward Island. The report tabularizes and graphically presents information on the distribution, abundance, size, and age composition of oysters collected in 1976. Oyster density over the survey area ranged from 0-395 m⁻². Sixty-one percent of the sample stations yielded oysters, 4+ yr old oysters representing 30.4% of the population being most abundant. One, 2, and 3 yr old oysters accounted for 22.4%, 22.0%, and 25.1% of the sample population respectively. Size frequency histograms for individual stations indicated that spatfall settlement and survival appeared regular in most areas examined"--Abstract, page iv.
