"In June, 1933, a request was received at the Atlantic Biological Station for an investigation into the causes of an increased mortality, which was affecting particularly, the native trout fry, being carried in the Kelly's pond hatchery at that time. It was not possible for such an investigation to be made by the Pathologist, at the time; however Dr. A.W.H. Needler, Oyster Investigator at Prince Edward Island, was able to visit the hatchery, to ascertain as much as he could of the conditions"--Page [1].
