"Mail surveys collected 1985/86 licence year catch and effort data on recreational fishing in B.C. tidal waters. During 2,260,000 angler days, adult anglers caught and kept 1,963,000 salmon including 550,000 chinook and 1,117,000 coho. Most effort was from boats and directed towards salmon in general. Juvenile anglers caught and kept an additional 79,000 chinook and 167,000 coho during 351,000 angler days. Developments in the Diary program and problems related to mail surveys are reviewed"--Abstract, page iii.
