"Mail surveys collected 1986/87 licence year catch and effort data on recreational fishing in B.C. tidal waters. During 2,107,000 angler days, adult anglers caught and kept 1,931,000 salmon including 516,000 chinook and 1,302,000 coho. Juvenile anglers caught and kept an additional 80,000 chinook and 197,000 coho during 325,000 angler days. Developments in the Diary program and problems related to mail surveys are reviewed"--Abstract, page iii.
