"In January 1958 the Geological Survey issued a 23-page report (Information Circular No. 1) summarizing the field work undertaken by its officers in 1957. This was followed in succeeding years by four other Information Circulars, each one thicker than the last. All met with considerable public interest and were soon out of print. This year for the first time, such information is being published in the Survey's 'Paper' series. Each statement has been obtained, in abstract form, from the field officer or officers concerned, and has received only cursory editing. … The following reports describe briefly, by province, territory, or district, field projects undertaken during 1962, and summarize some of the results. …"--Introduction, page [1].
