A preliminary towed system was designed and tested in the spring and summer of 1993. It is comprised of some components of the Klein 595 Digital Sonar System, most of which have been modified, and custom modules designed in-house. This combination has produced a high-resolution, low-noise system that performs well as a towed side-scan sonar system.
