Summary of issues facing Canadian-origin Yukon River chinook salmon : a review of limiting ecosystem and habitat factors / Al von Finster, Alyssa Murdoch, Jessica Gill, Tim Hawkins, Jean Hodgson, and Karlie...: Fs97-6/3717E-PDF
"In freshwater and marine environments, Yukon River Chinook face multiple high-risk threats throughout their life cycle. Freshwater risks are greatest during adult migration and spawning, with elevated temperatures and Ichthyophonus infections potentially causing 'carry-over' effects on egg and alevin survival. Marine risks include warming ocean temperatures and prey shifts during the maturing adult stage, as well as predation during the early marine stage. Additional factors considered across habitats highlight how interacting stressors across life stages, ecosystems, and generations likely drive population declines. This report synthesizes the best available scientific, Indigenous, and community knowledge to inform future efforts to rebuild Yukon River Chinook populations"--Abstract, page vi.
