"To determine the diet, food web and seasonal changes in structure of the fish community of the lower Slave River we sampled using gillnets, seines and set lines from late June to December, 1994 and from late May to late August, 1995. Catch per unit effort (CPUE) for each species over two week time periods was calculated as the number of fish per net panel per hour after standardization. The diet was determined by direct examination and classification of dietary items using the percent occurrence method. Eighteen fish species were collected in the Slave River area"--Report summary.
