"The 'Environmental Sensitivity Atlas for Lake Erie (Including the Welland Canal) and the Niagara River Shorelines' is a publication designed for use in response to marine spills of oil and other hazardous materials. This Atlas will allow responders to work from a common basis to rapidly identify the resources at risk during a spill. Information in the Atlas will assist decision makers to quickly assign priorities for protection measures. The Atlas focuses on the Canadian shoreline of Lake Erie from Amherstburg at the mouth of the Detroit River to Fort Erie at the mouth of the Niagara River. Both sides of the Welland Canal are covered in the study area.
