"Since December, 1935, blocks have been received at monthly intervals at the laboratory of the Atlantic Biological Station from the Atlantic Sugar Refineries, Saint John, N. B., for the purpose of examination for marine borers. At first, blocks from two locations were sent, one from the north-west corner of the wharf, the other from the Kennedy Slip. This last was discontinued in September, 1936. This summary will deal only with observations from blocks from Board No. 1, at the north-west corner"--Page [1].
