"In August, 1992, the Canada/New Brunswick Cooperation Agreement on Recreational Fisheries Development was signed, recognizing the long-term strategic importance of the recreational fishing sector to the social and economic future of New Brunswick. Under the Resource Development Program of the Agreement, a Strategic Planning and Evaluation component was mandated to develop a strategic approach which would define program areas for all species. The Final Report, submitted by LGL environmental research associates, is the net result of this undertaking and represents many months of consultative effort. It forms a solid strategic foundation on which to structure future development initiatives in the province's recreational fishery sector"--Abstract.
