1994 Gulf Region stock status report for groundfish and herring = Rapport sur l'état des stocks de poisson de fonds et de hareng pour la Région du Golfe 1994.: Fs97-4/2244-PDF

"In 1994, the stock assessments of groundfish and pelagic fish species were reviewed regionally. As such, this report documents the review process followed in the Gulf Region including the consultations with industry and the peer review process. The technical details of the stock assessments for groundfish (cod in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence, witch flounder in 4RST, American plaice, winter flounder and white hake in 4T) and for herring in 4T are described. A regional overview describing the general stock trends and an environmental summary describing climatic conditions in 1993 compared to previous years is also presented. The report provides the scientific basis of the conclusions on the status of the stocks for 1994 and provides a technical record of the discussions"--Summary, page iv.
