"The purpose of this study was to collect available information on floating breakwater design and to develop from this information a manual to assist engineers and marina operators. This report provides both a methodology and technical information which will assist the user to assess the applicability, benefits and limitations of using a floating breakwater design for a given site situation. A comparison is made of the relative performance characteristics of different existing breakwater designs and the feasibility of preparing a comprehensive floating breakwater design manual from the current state of knowledge discussed"--Abstract, page vii.
