"The Mackenzie River basin covers an area of over 1 3/4 million square kilometres, incorporating land areas in the three most western provinces and both the territories. The boundaries of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories are traversed by numerous water courses large and small which form part of the Mackenzie River system. Supplement A is meant to serve as a catalogue of the Mackenzie Basin interjurisdictional subbasins, providing general information on the location and size of those basins in addition to an indication of their general geological and hydrological character. The location of meteorological and hydrometric stations in the vicinity of the transboundary basins is also provided in this document"--Introduction.
