520 |a"A study of the winter commercial fishery on Great Slave Lake was begun during the winter of 1948-49. All the data were gathered by the junior author. This study is complementary to the study of the summer fishery which has been pursued since 1946 by the Central Fisheries Research Station of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada. Lake trout, Cristivomer namaycush lake whitefish, Coregonus clupeaformis, and inconnu, Stenodus leucichthys mackenzii were the principle commercial species although inconsequential numbers of pike, Esox lucius and of yellow pike-perch, Stizostedion vitreum vitreum were sold"--Introduction, page 1.
