This national brownfields redevelopment strategy presents recommendations for transforming abandoned, idle, or underutilized—and in some cases, contaminated—commercial or industrial properties into vibrant centres of community life. It addresses the key barriers to brownfield redevelopment, including legal uncertainty surrounding environment liability, lack of capital, and poor stakeholder understanding of the issue.
