Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985 : YX44

The Revised Statutes comprise the following components: Consolidated Revised Statutes of Canada to December 31, 1984. Includes laws enacted on or before December 31, 1984. However, as a general rule, amendments enacted but not yet in force at the end of 1984 are excluded from the text. (8 volumes containing chapters A-1 to Y-4.) Appendices. The three appendices are: Appendix I: Schedule of Acts and portions of Acts repealed as of the coming into force of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985; Appendix II: Constitutional Act and Documents; Appendix III: Canadian Bill of Rights. (In one volume.) Supplements. A total of 5 volumes of supplements are available. These volumes include amendments excluded from the principal volumes by reason of their not being in force on December 31, 1984. The fifth supplement contains the Income Tax Act and Income Tax Application Rules, 1971. Table of Concordance. A table of concordance has been prepared for use with the Revised Statutes. It shows the connection between the individual provisions of law as they existed on December 31, 1984, and the corresponding provisions in the Revised Statutes. Index to the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985. An English and a French index are available in separate volumes. The index to the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985 is an integrated subject-matter index that has been prepared in English by the Canadian Law Information Council (CLIC) and in French by the Société québécoise d'information juridique (SOQUIJ). The Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985 are available in a bound edition. Pursuant to subsection 9(4) of the Statute Revision Act, only the bound volumes have evidentiary value.
