This review includes both the instream water quality objectives for the nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorus, and the limits for phosphorus and nitrogen (as a nutrient) specified in effluent permits and regulations. The review concentrates on the Peace, Athabasca and Slave Rivers, but the scope also includes Alberta, Canada, and other jurisdictions.
