During the 1991 breeding season, a survey was conducted of marsh-nesting Forster's Terns (Sterna forsteri) and Black Terns (Chlidonias niger) in the Canadian Great Lakes. The survey area consisted of the shoreline marshes (i.e., marshes within 5 km of the shoreline) of the Canadian portions of Lake Huron(excluding the North Channel), St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, Detroit River, Lake Erie, Niagara River, Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence River downstream to Cornwall.--Abstract
