The reach receives effluent from the Weldwood Canada pulp mill mixed with municipal effluent from the town of Hinton. Sampling in the reach for a number of aquatic media including water, suspended sediment, bottom sediment, benthic invertebrates, biofilm, and fish was initiated in late March 1992.
