Environmental monitoring of finfish aquaculture sites in Bay d'Espoir Newfoundland during the winter of 1997 / by Michael F. Tlusty, V. A. Pepper and M. Robin Anderson. : Fs97-6/2273E

The purpose of this report is to characterize the present water quality conditions within this estuarine fjord. We plan to use this research as a platform, from which additional biological data can be coupled to appropriate physical oceanographic and bathymetric data and information on production effort can be used to assess the assimilative capacity of over-wintering sites for salmonid aquaculture in Bay d'Espoir. At the end of this report, we undertake a preliminary assessment of assimilative capacity for Roti Bay, and Voyce Cove, two of the more important over-wintering areas.--Page 3
