Presents a biological synopsis of a number of species of diatoms and dinoflagellates based on literature searches and occurrences in other regions of the world in order to use this information to evaluate the potential risk of these species to Canadian waters for introduction and the possibility of becoming a nuisance species in terms of ecosystem biodiversity, and economic and/or human health.
