The Humanities Data Dictionary, created primarily as a reference tool for users of the collections management system of the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) has proven valuable for other purposes. It may be used by any institution to structure a microcomputer system compatible with CHIN with a view to a future liason, or to structure and format data in such a way that any exchange of information becomes practical.--Introduction
