This study provides a useful summary and review of the various estimates of labour supply behaviour derived over several years, and also reports in detail on the results obtained using the longitudinal data derived from the Manitoba Basic Annual Income Experiment (MINCOME). This research will undoubtedly hold special interest for Canadian economists and policy makers concerned with the trade-offs between equity and efficiency as they relate to labour markets. Tables.
