Using case studies, it covers such topics as the causes of contemporary civil wars, the evolution of peacekeeping, the challenge of peacebuilding in post-conflict societies, and protecting children affected by wars. It also looks at new threats to human security, such as transnational crime, and new developments in global law enforcement.
