Sacred lives : Canadian aboriginal children & youth speak out about sexual exploitation  : RH34-12/2000E

Cover image

Save the Children Canada undertook this project in order to more fully understand the commercial sexual exploitation of Aboriginal children and youth in Canada. This document reflects five months of subsequent cross-Canada consultations with commercially sexually exploited Aboriginal children and youth. The purpose of the consultations was to give these children and youth a chance to express their ideas and concerns regarding the issues of abuse, exploitation, prevention, healing, exiting, crisis intervention, harm reduction, public attitudes, and youth participation. The consultations are part of our long-term project designed to raise national awareness, change public attitudes, increase the sensitivity of people who work with youth, provide direct assistance to agencies, and ultimately, decrease the market for sex with children.--Overview
