5203 |aThis study was undertaken to provide baseline data for the Food Mail Program, a program designed to promote healthy eating and improve food security in Kangiqsujuaq, Nunavik. The report highlights several nutrition concerns for Kangiqsujuaq residents, particularly for women of child-bearing age. As well as reducing the rate for shipping “priority perishables” such as fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, the Food Mail Program includes nutrition education and retail training in proper food handling and storage.
