Section I presents an overview of shorebirds in Québec, an assessment of shorebird use of each of the six Bird Conservation Regions (BCR) found in Québec, and an outline of the needs (research, monitoring, and habitat) and means (such as monitoring programs, partnerships efforts, NABCI) of conserving healthy populations of shorebirds in the province. Section II describes what is currently known about the status, distribution, trends and population estimates of each shorebird species regularly found in Québec during migration, the breeding season, or over winter.
