This handbook provides an introduction to community development and capacity building. It is meant as a resource for exploring and initiating community development. The book defines the terms "community development" and "community capacity building." It explains the 7 basic steps of the community development process and identifies problems often experienced and how to overcome them. Real life stories help reveal how the community development process has and can be applied. There is also information on the knowledge and skills you will need to make up a strong and effective development team. This book is a great start for anyone interested in getting his/her community development project off the ground.
