The Commission held public hearings in 1989 for the purpose of inquiring into athletes' use of drugs, especially anabolic steroids, and of studying the effects of these drugs on the performance of users and the consequent potential to harm their health. The conclusions and recommendations of this commission are an important first step towards the rehabilitation of sportsmanship in the world. |
