Short term fluctuations in the pelagic ecosystem of the northwest Atlantic / Edgar L. Dalley, John T. Anderson and Denise J. Davis. : Fs70-1/2000-101E-PDF
This paper presents the results of the 1999 pelagic 0-group survey, a comprehensive survey of the marine pelagic environment off Newfoundland and Labrador (NAFO Divisions 2J3KLNO). The survey was undertaken for a sixth consecutive year in August/September 1999. This document includes descriptions of annual and geographic variation in temperature, zooplankton, total nekton biomass and composition over the past 6 years. Following any adjustments for diel differences in catch rate, the variables are statistically examined for spatial patterns throughout the large zoogeographic area surveyed. In particular annual (1994-1999) fluctuations are examined to identify trends over the six-year period (1994-1999).
