520 |aThe objective of this Open File is to release data obtained from the use of a portable x-ray fluorescent spectrometer for a 130m deep borehole (Cochrane) and the 115 m deep borehole (Spider) located near Nanaimo, B.C. The sites are located within the Georgia Basin, a structural depression that contains the Georgia Strait. The data sets provide fundamental information that can be used for defining chemical and mineralogical variations within aquifers and aquitards and are crucial to the development of basin stratigraphy, provenance and the production of accurate 3-dimensional basin models.
