      <marc:subfield code="a">The CBRNE Research and Technology Initiative (CRTI) funded the project CRTI 07 0186RD “Optimization of MEdical DECORporation (MEDECOR) Tool for Time of Use and Improved Bioeffects” to develop a field-deployable medical decorporation management tool that will provide treatment strategies for removal of internalized radionuclides by optimizing gain and minimizing risk. The project progressed well, was on time and adhered to budget. At project completion, the final software tool was delivered adhering to the specified performance criteria and objectives set at project conception. First responders and medical personnel now have at their disposal a fieldable guidance tool capable of providing the most current decorporation guidance for internalized radionuclides and recommends ideal risk aversion strategies based on treatment times and dose savings.</marc:subfield>
