520 |a"(Quantitative) Structure Activity Relationships [(Q)SARs] represent a continuum of different methods for predicting the activities and properties of untested chemicals based on their structural similarity to chemicals with known activities or properties. The current survey was designed to enable Health Canada to gain a better understanding of the current or planned use of (Q)SAR tools and approaches in risk assessment activities under various mandates across the department. The survey included 21 questions covering each respondent’s program information, current and planned usage of (Q)SAR, tasks/projects for which (Q)SAR is applicable, present applications, predicted endpoints, types of approaches, specific tools, learning and collaboration, issues and concerns, and other groups to contact. The survey was sent to 23 individuals at 19 organizations within Health Canada and one key partner department, Environment Canada, with detailed responses received from 15 organizations"--Executive summary, p. i.
