5203 |a"In this article, information on deaths from five congenital anomalies is presented: circulatory system anomalies, spina bifida, and three chromosomal anomalies—Down syndrome, Edwards’ syndrome and Patau’s syndrome. Death from a congenital anomaly refers to all deaths where the underlying cause of death was coded as a congenital anomaly since 1974 according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), 8th, 9th, and 10th revisions.
