In Spring 2016, the Office of the Auditor General of Canada (OAG) released a performance audit that examined whether VAC managed the drug component of its Health Care Benefits Program to contribute to the health of veterans by providing coverage for drugs based on evidence, by using cost-effective strategies, and by monitoring the utilization of drugs covered.
