520 |a"These Proceedings summarize the relevant discussions and key conclusions that resulted from a Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat (CSAS) Regional Peer Review meeting of November 12 and 13, 2015 at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo, B.C. A working paper focusing on “Estimates of a Biologically-Based Spawning Goal and Biological Benchmark for Little Tahltan Chinook Salmon” was presented for peer review. In-person and web-based participation included Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Science staff; and external participants from First Nations organizations and Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The conclusions and advice resulting from this review will be provided in the form of a Science Advisory Report providing advice to the Canadian caucus of the Transboundary River Panel of the Pacific Salmon Commission to explore specifically the development of quantitative estimates of reference points which can be used as the basis for a biological spawning goal. Though the analysis presented could not address the objective of an escapement goal for the Little Tahltan River, it provided valuable information about the limitations of the data and would be informative to future work"--Summary.
