Inuit women in Pond Inlet speak about power / prepared by Nancy Wachowich. : Z1-1991/1-41-48E-PDF
“This project seeks to delineate Inuit women's perspectives on the changing nature of women's power roles in North Baffin Inuit culture. Using a case study approach to record the views and recollections of women regarding the history of Inuit women's institutionalized power in collective decision-making, the purpose of this research is to look at the development of women's authority and governance that took place as a result of the colonial encounter and how this has set the focus for what Inuit women envision as future institutionalized power roles for themselves in their communities"--Objectives of the research, p. 5.
