“This study examines the evolution of state structures in the Territorial north. The study period extends from 1930 to the present. Although the geographical focus is on the Northwest Territories, parallel developments are also considered in the Yukon and in Arctic Quebec. Each offers certain insights into the aims, instruments and impacts of the state presence in the Territorial north.
