520 |aHistorical daily mean air and water temperatures, stream discharge and adult Chinook salmon upstream migration data were assembled for the Cowichan River, British Columbia. Long-term air temperature time-series were statistically related to intermittent water temperature time-series to hind-cast daily water temperatures for the Lower Cowichan River from 1913-2014. Statistical relationships between the long-term WATER SURVEY OF CANADA (WSC) hydrometric station on the Upper Cowichan River (1913-2012), and the Lower Cowichan WSC station, were used to extend the discharge time-series for the Lower Cowichan site. Peak-over-threshold analyses were then applied to reconstructed time-series data to review trends.
