520 |a“This report presents the findings, conclusions and recommendations of the evaluation of ACOA’s International Business Development (IBD) sub-program. The evaluation examines the relevance and performance of IBD programming from 2008-2009 to 2013-2014 as per the Agency’s approved evaluation plan and the evaluation’s terms of reference. It meets the accountability requirements outlined in the Treasury Board’s (TB) Policy on Evaluation. The study addresses specific needs of senior management and the renewal of the Canada-Atlantic Provinces Agreement on International Business Development (IBDA). The IBD sub-program supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), not-for-profit organizations, provincial governments, and research and educational institutions with a view to helping Atlantic Canadians strengthen their position in international markets and take advantage of international business opportunities. Through trade missions, marketing, training, networking and planning supports, the programming seeks to increase the number of new exporters while also working with existing ones to expand export activities in established and emerging markets"--Executive summary, p. iii.
