"It is the purpose of this publication to present a general review, for the period 1928-1933, of the industries manufacturing food products, alcoholic beverages, rubber goods, tobacco, and other manufacturers based on vegetable products. These include all industries whose chief raw materials are of vegetable origin, exclusive of fibres which are included in the Textiles and Textile Products group of industries, and comprise one of the main divisions, viz., Vegetable Products Industries, in the scheme of classification used in the census of manufactures. The basis of classification is the chief component raw materials used by each industry."--Preface.
