Current practice of prenatal diagnosis in Canada . : Z1-1989/3-41-26E-PDF

"Prenatal diagnosis (PND) has become a routinely offered part of pregnancy care for a significant percentage of women in Canada - those women who are at higher risk because of their age or because of a family history, such as having had a child with a genetic disease or congenital anomaly. As outlined in Volume 12, Canada's record with regard to the introduction and provision of prenatal diagnostic techniques has been a good example internationally of responsible use of technology. This volume documents in some detail current practices in prenatal diagnosis and testing in Canada today and, in the process, provides answers to many questions raised in the Commission's public consultations."--Introduction.
