"This document illustrates the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada's (FCAC) vision for robust and effective oversight to ensure Canadians continue to benefit from the financial consumer protection framework put in place by the Government of Canada. It summarizes FCAC’s legislative mandate as well as its supervisory roles and responsibilities. It describes the entities that FCAC regulates, their obligations and the roles of various other stakeholders. Finally, this document explains the activities and tools that FCAC leverages to fulfill its supervisory mandate. The Supervision Framework updates and replaces FCAC’s Compliance Framework.
