"In this report, the Committee made eight recommendations that seek to obtain the information that will be necessary to assess whether the gaps identified in this audit have been properly addressed by the responsible departments and agencies. Given its increasing use of horizontal initiatives, it is crucial that the federal government improve its management, costing and reporting of such initiatives in order to be able to clearly demonstrate their concrete results for Canadians"--Conclusion, p. 22.
