"This Street Index series contains information compiled from various sources, primarily for use as an internal working document, and to facilitate the processing of data collected during the 1971 Census of Canada in fifty-eight of the most important urban centres. However, the potential value of these Street Indexes to many users of census data, led to their publication in special volumes. Each volume is in two parts and covers a specific urban centre consisting of one or more cities or towns. Part One in each volume is a list of streets in the urban centre concerned. This list provides, for each street, the addresses of houses—odd and even numbers —and shows the relevant Electoral District, Enumeration Area and Census Tract. ..."--Intro.
