“Pursuant to sections 68 and 74 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA) (Canada 1999), the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Health conduct screening assessments of substances to determine whether they present or may present a risk to the environment or to human health. This screening assessment includes consideration of information on chemical properties, environmental fate, hazards, uses, and exposure, as well as additional information submitted by stakeholders. Data relevant to the screening assessment of these substances were identified up to February 2015 for ecological sections of the document and up to April 2015 for human health sections. Empirical data from key studies, as well as model results, were used to reach conclusions. When available and relevant, information presented in assessments from other jurisdictions was considered”--Introd., p. 1, 2.
