520 |a"The current study was undertaken to examine the extent to which Aboriginal social history factors were considered in assessments for decisions relating to two case management decision points: security classification and discretionary release. A total of 618 assessments for decision were manually coded to investigate the extent to which Aboriginal social history factors were mentioned and to which they were directly linked to decisional recommendations. Overall, it was found that Aboriginal social history factors were documented in virtually all cases – 98% – although it appeared that there may be room for improvement in the extent to which they were explicitly linked to the resulting recommendations. Among offenders, the assessments for decision written for Métis offenders were slightly less likely to include Aboriginal social history factors"--Executive summary, p. iii.
