520 | 0 |a"This guide provides a “framework” for people who lead training programs in a plain language approach to communication. Because it is impossible to teach a course the way another trainer would, you may wish to use this guide as a starting point for developing your own style and format. The guide is based on a two-day course. While shorter courses can build awareness of the need for plain language, a longer course is needed to develop the technical skills necessary to apply the plain language approach in daily writing. A sample agenda for a two-day course is presented on page x. ... The guide is divided into nine modules. The first eight modules have been designed to take participants through the entire plain language process in steps so they can learn the techniques of a plain language approach to communication. The final module then gives participants a chance to work with all of the techniques at the same time"--About this guide, p. v. |
