Air pollution and energy reserves = La pollution atmosphérique et les reserves d'énergie / T.D. Brown, Canadian Combustion Research Laboratory, Fuels Research Centre. : M38-8/124-PDF
"Man is not in harmony with his environment and only survives by the application of technology. The application of technology has, in some nations, advanced beyond survival to the point of providing a high degree of comfort and luxury. Unfortunately, technology is based on the combustion of limited supplies of conventional fuels, and combustion is a process that obeys natural laws and produces atmospheric pollutants. Therefore, the major technological challenges of our time lie in two aspects of conservation — the conservation of our environment and the conservation of our non-renewable resources whilst maintaining an acceptable standard of living"--p. 6.
